Which is better during the day in Ramadan: reciting the Qur'an or voluntary prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Which is better during the day in Ramadan: reciting the Qur'an or voluntary prayer?

A: It was the way of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in the month of Ramadan to increase in various types of worship. Jibril would review the Qur'an with him at night, and whenever Jibril met him, he was more generous with good than the sending wind. He was the most generous of people, and he was at his most generous in Ramadan. He would increase in charity, excellence in worship, recitation of the Qur'an, prayer, remembrance of Allah, and spiritual retreat in the mosque. This is the way of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in this matter and in this noble month.
As for comparing the recitation of the one who recites with the voluntary prayer of the one who prays, it varies according to the circumstances of people, and the assessment of that is referred to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He); for He encompasses all things.
