The ruling on the following phrases: "Allah knows," "May Allah not permit it"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original

The first question of Fatwa number ( 10751 ):

Q1: What is the ruling in the Shari'ah, in your view, regarding these phrases: (May Allah know), (May Allah not permit), (May Allah not decree), (The will of Allah), (Allah and His Messenger know best)?
A1: Saying ("Allah knows") is permissible if one is truthful. Saying ("May Allah not permit it, may Allah not decree it") is permissible if the intention is to seek safety from what harms one. Saying ("The will of Allah") is permissible if one intends that what has befallen one, such as illness or poverty, is from the divine decree and the cosmic will of Allah. Saying ("Allah and His Messenger know best") is permissible during the lifetime of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). As for after his passing, one should say "Allah knows best," because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) does not know what happens after his passing. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
