Fatwa No. ( 21305 )
Q: What is the ruling on saying these words: A- A person passed away, and some of them said: “By Allah, he did not deserve it.” B- “Your advice and Allah’s guidance.” C- When a person is harmed, they say: “Poor thing.” Meaning: Why does this happen to him?
A : First: Saying: “By Allah, he did not deserve it” is not permissible; because it is an objection to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in His decree and destiny, as its meaning is: that what befalls so-and-so, whether illness, tribulation, death, or the like, is not something he deserved, and this is a criticism of the wisdom of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He).
Second: Saying: “Your advice and Allah’s guidance” — the apparent meaning of this phrase is that the speaker is seeking his companion’s advice, and then the entire matter, from beginning to end, is in need of Allah’s guidance, so this is a correct meaning and there is no harm in it, and if the phrase were: “Your advice, then Allah’s guidance,” that would be better. Third: Saying: “Poor thing” to one who has been harmed, meaning why does this happen to him: what was said about the first phrase applies to this phrase as well.
