Apostasy invalidates deeds if one does not repent from it

Fatwa number ( 7658 ):
Q: In the year before last, I intended to perform the obligatory Hajj as a Qiran pilgrim. As soon as I reached the Sacred House of Allah , I performed the obligatory 'Umrah, which also counted as the arrival tawaf at the same time, since I had not had the honor of visiting the House of Allah before. Then, one day later, I performed the obligatory 'Umrah on behalf of my deceased mother. Since there was ample time before going to Mina on the Day of Tarwiyah, the relatives with whom I was staying advised me to exit the state of ihram, so I did. When going to Mina , I entered ihram again and then prayed two rak'ahs with the intention of ihram for Hajj only, in the 'Umrah mosque. In this case, my intention changed from Qiran to Tamattu'. Does this cast any doubt on my Hajj, despite my having slaughtered a sacrificial animal? And is the 'Umrah I performed on behalf of my mother during the Hajj season valid, or is it not permissible to perform two 'Umrahs in one Hajj season? Does any sin a person commits after performing the obligatory act affect it? Since we are not protected from error?
A: First: In the Hajj you described, you are considered a Tamattu' pilgrim, combining 'Umrah with Hajj. You did well in exiting the state of ihram from the 'Umrah.
Second: The 'Umrah you performed on behalf of your mother after performing 'Umrah for yourself is valid, provided you performed it after exiting the state of ihram from your 'Umrah by shaving or cutting your hair after the tawaf and sa'y. Third: Sins other than major shirk (associating partners with Allah) do not invalidate righteous deeds, but there will be a reckoning between good and bad deeds for one who mixes a righteous deed with an evil one, unless he repents from it or Allah pardons him. As for apostasy from Islam—may Allah protect us from it—it invalidates all righteous deeds if one dies in a state of apostasy. But if one repents with sincere repentance, his righteous deeds are not invalidated; this is a favor from Allah and mercy. Allah the Exalted said:
And whoever of you reverts from his religion [to disbelief] and dies while he is a disbeliever - for those, their deeds have become worthless in this world and the Hereafter, and those are the companions of the Fire, they will abide therein eternally.
