Dealing with one who denies some of the hadiths
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 6280 ):
Q3: What is the ruling regarding those who deny some of the authentic hadiths found in the two Sahihs, such as the hadiths concerning the punishment and bliss of the grave, the Ascension, sorcery, intercession, and exiting the Fire? Should one pray behind them, exchange greetings with them, or boycott them?
A3: Scholars of hadith, in terms of both narration and understanding, should engage with them to make them aware of the authenticity of these hadiths and their meanings. If they persist in denying them or distorting their texts from their correct meaning, following their desires and applying them to their false opinion, then they are open sinners. It is obligatory to boycott them and avoid their company to guard against their harm, unless contact with them is for the purpose of advising them
and guiding them. As for praying behind them, the ruling is the same as the ruling on praying behind an open sinner; however, the safest course is not to pray behind them, because some scholars have declared them disbelievers. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
