Going to a Sayyid in Cases of Illness

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 9440 ):
Q1: Whatis the ruling on going to the sayyid in cases of severe illnesseven though there is no treatment for the patient, but the sayyid has treated many people with the same illness and they were healed by the command of Allah, while we believe that Allah is the Healer, and some have objected to this, and we say: that the sayyid is a means, just like the doctor. What is your opinion on that?
A1: It is permissible for the sick person to seek treatment for his illness with permissible medicines, with the prescribed Ruqyah (healing by Qur'anic recitation), and with the prescribed supplications. It is forbidden to go to fortune-tellers and sorcerers who claim knowledge of the unseen and who perform talismans and shirk-based Ruqyah, even if they are called a Sayyid. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
