The third question of Fatwa No. ( 4798 ):
Q3: Regarding ruqyah and tamimah (amulets), if they are from the Qur'an, what is their ruling? And what is the ruling if I carry with me the book [Al-Hisn al-Hisn] or the book [Hirz
al-Jawshan] or [The Seven Solomonian Contracts]? Is it true that what is mentioned in these books is beneficial in warding off the evil eye and envy... etc.? They say: that they contain only Qur'anic verses, such as the Mu'awwidhat (the two chapters of protection) and Ayat al-Kursi (the Verse of the Throne). So, is reciting them beneficial only, without carrying these books?

A3 : Ruqyah is permissible with the Qur'an and with dhikr, and with everything that contains no shirk (associating partners with Allah) and no prohibited supplications. As for the books [Al-Hisn al-Hisn], [Hirz al-Jawshan], and [The Seven Contracts], taking them as amulets is not permissible. As for reciting Ayat al-Kursi (the Verse of the Throne) at bedtime, it is beneficial, and reciting (Say: He is Allah, the One) and (the two chapters of protection) is also beneficial. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
