The custodians of the Ka'bah have no special cosmic or legal status

The first question of Fatwa No. ( 1239 ):

Q1: One of my companions mentioned that Banu Shaybah are the custodians of the Ka'bah and that no one can open the door of the Ka'bah , even if they have the key, unless they are from Banu Shaybah . It is also reported that a man from outside Banu Shaybah took its key and tried to open it, but he was unable to do so until an infant from Banu Shaybah was brought and placed his hand on its door, whereupon it opened. Is this true?
A1: Banu Shaybah are the custodians of the Ka'bah , but the claim that the door of the Ka'bah cannot be opened with its key by anyone who takes charge of it or attempts to open it, other than them, is incorrect. What was mentioned in the question about the inability to open it until an infant from Banu Shaybah placed his hand on its door is a lie that contradicts the cosmic laws of Allah in arranging effects according to their causes. Whoever claims this is making a claim contrary to the principle by which the law of Allah in His creation and management has proceeded. It has not been established that Banu Shaybah have any special cosmic or legal status beyond the fact that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave them the key to
the Ka'bah and entrusted them with its service, and this does not necessitate a violation of the cosmic laws of Allah. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
