Q1: (a) A man died and left a will to be buried in a coffin. What is the ruling? (b) A Muslim died and was a member of the Masonic group, and the funeral prayer was performed for him, then the Masonic rites were performed afterwards. What is the ruling of Islam regarding this deceased and those who performed or permitted the performance of these rites? (c) What is Masonry ? And what is the ruling of Islam regarding it?
A1: (a) Placing the deceased in a coffin was not known during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) or the time of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), and it is better for the Muslims to follow their path; therefore, placing the deceased in a coffin is disliked, whether the ground is hard, soft, or moist. If he wills to be placed in a coffin, his will is not executed. The Shafi'is permitted it if the ground is soft or moist, and they do not execute his will except in such a case. (b, c) Masonry: It is a secret political society aiming to abolish religions and noble morals and replace them with secular laws
And the non-religious systems are in their place, striving with all their might to bring about continuous revolutions and replacing one authority with another under the claim of freedom of thought, opinion, and belief. If he repents, well and good; otherwise, he is killed. If he dies in that state, his reward is the reward of disbelievers. And if one claims affiliation with Masonry and is a member of its group while not knowing its reality, nor knowing the conspiracy it is built upon against Islam and Muslims, and the plotting of evil against everyone who seeks to unite the community and reform nations, and he participates with them in

And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
