The form of sending peace upon the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) at his grave and his seeing the one who visited him in his grave

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q4: Which prayers are more excellent at his noble grave, I mean: "Peace and blessings be upon you, O Messenger of Allah," or "O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad " in the form of a request, and does the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) look at the man who prays for him at his noble grave, and did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) extend his hand from his noble grave to any of the great Companions or to the noble awliya (close friends of Allah) in response to the greeting?
A4: (a) No specific form of prayer and peace upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at his grave has been established from him—as far as we know. It is permissible to say when visiting him: "Peace and blessings be upon you, O Messenger of Allah," for its meaning is a request and an act of creation, even if the wording is a statement of fact. It is also permissible to pray for him using the Ibrahimiyyah prayer, saying: "O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad." The most excellent is to greet him in the form of a statement, just as one greets the other graves, because Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), when he visited him, would say:
Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah, peace be upon you, O Abu Bakr, peace be upon you, O my fatherالسلام عليك يا رسول الله، السلام عليك يا أبا بكر، السلام عليك يا أبتاه
Musannaf Abd al-Razzaq 7:674
then he would turn away. (b) It has not been established in the Book or in an authentic Sunnah that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sees the one who visited his grave. The original ruling is that he does not see, until that is established by evidence from the Book or the Sunnah. (c) The original ruling regarding a deceased person, whether a Prophet or otherwise, is that he does not move in his grave by extending his hand or otherwise. Therefore, what is said about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) extending his hand to some of those who greeted him is not correct; rather, it is a delusion and an illusion with no basis in truth. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and peace.
