Donating to Build a Mosque on a Grave
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 5093 ):
Q: The people of our town demolished a mosque in order to rebuild it. This mosque had been built on a grave. After they began construction, the building rose above the grave, and they did not place it outside the mosque. What is the ruling on donating to this mosque, and is it permissible to pray in it after it is built on the grave? It is known that the grave is in a room with its door in the mosque.
A: If the situation is as described, it is not permissible to donate to build this mosque, nor to participate in its construction, and it is not permissible to pray in it. Rather, it must be demolished. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
