The first question of fatwa number ( 9686 ):
Q1: Is it permissible to declare a disbeliever one who prays in a shrine for the sake of seeking blessing from that close friend of Allah, if he is a close friend of Allah?
A1: It is forbidden to pray in a place that contains a grave. If one intends by his prayer to draw near to that close friend of Allah, then this is major shirk (associating partners with Allah). Allah the Exalted said:[Al-An'am 6:162] . And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
