The Descent of 'Isa (peace be upon him) at the End of Time as a Prophet and Messenger: A Sign of the Major Signs of the Hour

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 2982 ):
Q: There are authentic hadiths regarding the return of the Prophet 'Isa (peace and blessings be upon him), are these hadiths singular reports, and is there an explicit text in the Qur'an regarding the return of the Prophet 'Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon him)? If he returns, does he return as a prophet or a messenger? We ask you to guide us to the books that contain a sufficient and satisfying answer.
A: First: Authentic hadiths have been narrated regarding the descent of the Prophet of Allah, 'Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon him), after he was raised alive to the sky, and it is valid to cite them as evidence whether they are mass-transmitted or singular reports. Second: The Qur'an contains texts stating that 'Isa ibn Maryam was raised alive to the sky and will descend as a prophet and messenger. This is a continuation of his prophethood and messengership prior to his raising, but he will not call to his own Shari'ah; rather, he will call to the fundamentals of Islam to which all the prophets and messengers called, and to the branches brought by the Seal of the Messengers, Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Thus, it is not a new prophethood and messengership that would conflict with the sealing of prophethood by the message of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
