Seeking Healing with the Water of the Well Known as the Well of Ayyub
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 9554 ):
Q1: We have in Egypt a well in Sinai that is said to be the one in which the Prophet of Allah, Ayyub ,
Allah commanded him to strike the ground with his foot while he was afflicted, and then Allah the Exalted cured him. A woman in our area was afflicted with an illness and wanted to go to the well to strike it with her foot, just as the Prophet of Allah, Ayyub (peace and blessings be upon him), did. Is it permissible for her to wash with water from this well seeking healing, or does this become associating partners with Allah and seeking aid from other than Allah?
A1: This is not authentic, and the place where Ayyub bathed is not known. Therefore, it is not permissible for her to go to what is claimed to be the well of Ayyub . And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
