The Ruling on Celebrating the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) Birthday

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 7136 ):
Q1: Celebrating the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) birthday, holding a gathering on this occasion where people talk about the Messenger’s life, they perform the prayer, they recite the eulogy of the Messenger from memory, and they send peace upon him from memory (look at the images of what is recited from memory; the people stand and place their arms on the [duration] and recite the peace from memory).
A1: Holding a celebration on the occasion of his (peace and blessings be upon him) birthday is not permissible; because it is a religious innovation that was not practiced by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), nor by his Rightly Guided Caliphs, nor by any other scholars in the three blessed centuries. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
