The Fire is a temporary punishment for the sinners among the believers who enter it

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q16: In his last book, which was recently published and titled "The Fire is a Hospital," he spoke about the Fire and depicted it as a hospital, claiming that Allah's mercy in the Hereafter includes the disbeliever. In the course of his citation, he said: "The statement that the 'son of Adam' referred to in the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):
When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).
Riyad as-Salihin 1383
means only the Muslim here, is considered a narrowness of understanding and not fair."

Vol. 16 : The Fire is considered a temporary punishment for the sinners among the believers who enter it, whereas for the disbelievers it is an eternal punishment from which they will not exit and for which they will not be pardoned, based on the evidence presented in the answers to questions 14 and 15. Accordingly, comparing the Fire to a hospital is an error; because the Fire is a punishment for those who enter it, while the hospital is mercy for those who enter it, where they are served, fed beneficial food, and treated for their illness in hope of recovery. Thus, the patient’s entry into it is not for his punishment or harm, but for the purpose of benefiting and treating him out of mercy for him, not out of anger toward him. As for the meaning of "the son of Adam" in the hadith mentioned in the question: it is the one who died a Muslim, not the one who died a disbeliever; based on the evidence indicating that the one who died
in a state of disbelief, his good deeds are rendered void, so he will not be rewarded for them in the Hereafter; rather, his good things are hastened for him in this worldly life. Allah the Exalted said:
(116) Indeed, those who disbelieve - never will their wealth or their children avail them against Allah at all, and those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally. (117) The example of what they spend in this worldly life is like that of a wind containing frost which strikes the harvest of a people who have wronged themselves and destroys it. And Allah has not wronged them, but they wrong themselves.
[Ali 'Imran 3:116-117]
, and He said:
(14) And if they do not respond to you - then know that the Qur'an was revealed with the knowledge of Allah and that there is no deity except Him. Then, would you [not] be Muslims? (15) Whoever desires the life of this world and its adornments - We fully repay them for their deeds therein, and they therein will not be deprived. (16) Those are the ones for whom there is not in the Hereafter but the Fire. And lost is what they did therein, and worthless is what they used to do.
[Hud 11:14-16]
, and He said:
The example of those who disbelieve in their Lord is [that] their deeds are like ashes which the wind blows forcefully on a stormy day; they are unable [to keep] from what they earned a [single] thing. That is what is extreme error.
[Ibrahim 14:18]
, and He said:
And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "You exhausted your pleasures during your worldly life and enjoyed them, so this Day you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation because you were arrogant upon the earth without right and because you were defiantly disobedient."
[Al-Ahqaf 46:20]
, and He said:
And We will regard what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.
[Al-Furqan 25:23]

There is no injustice or tyranny in this; because it is he who wronged himself with his disbelief by which his deeds were rendered void, as Allah the Just Ruler informed us. Nor is there any narrowness of understanding in it, but rather there is light of insight and guidance by the clear texts of the Shari'ah. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad , and his family and his Companions.
