The Death of the Sinners Who Are Among the People of the Fire

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 9886 ):
Q1: Does Allah cause the sinners of this Ummah to die a true death if they enter the Fire? And what is the meaning of “they will not taste death therein”? Has any hadith been reported regarding this?
A1: (a) The disbelievers, the believers, and the sinners among the believers do not die after the death they experienced at the end of their term in this worldly life, neither a true death nor a non-true death like sleep. However, some of the sinners among the believers are struck by the Fire because of their sins, and it kills them a death until they become charcoal, then permission is granted for intercession on their behalf, as came in the hadith of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The (permanent) inhabitants of the Fire are those who are doomed to it, and verily they would neither die nor live in it (al-Qur'an, xx. 47; lxxxvii. 13). But the people whom the Fire would afflict (temporarily) on account of their sins, or so said (the narrator)" on account of their misdeeds," He would cause them to die till they would be turned into charcoal. Then they would be granted intercession and would be brought in groups and would be spread on the rivers of Paradise and then it would be said: O inhabitants of Paradise, pour water over them; then they would sprout forth like the sprouting of seed in the silt carried by flood. A man among the people said: (It appears) as if the Messenger of Allah lived in the steppe.
Sahih Muslim 185a
. It was narrated by Muslim in his Sahih.
(b) The phrase
They will not taste death therein
[Ad-Dukhan 44:56]
is part of a verse from Surat al-Dukhan, which is included among verses concerning the pleasure of the righteous. It is the saying of Allah, the Exalted:
(51) Indeed, the righteous will be in a secure place; (52) Within gardens and springs, (53) Wearing [garments of] fine silk and brocade, facing each other. (54) Thus. And We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. (55) They will call therein for every [kind of] fruit - safe and secure. (56) They will not taste death therein except the first death, and He will have protected them from the punishment of Hellfire (57) As bounty from your Lord. That is what is the great attainment.
[Ad-Dukhan 44:51-57]
. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
