Fatwa No. ( 7583 ):
Q: The sender informs that there are three religious groups in his country: 1 - the Group for Removing Innovations and Establishing the Sunnah . 2 - the Group of Sufi Orders . 3 - the Group of the Qadiri Order . He requests that light be shed on these three groups and their positions be clarified according to the Noble Qur'an and the Noble Prophetic Sunnah.
A: First: Whoever calls to the Book of Allah the Exalted and to what is established from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the hadiths, and acts upon it himself, and rejects what contradicts it, and strives to remove what has been introduced as religious innovation, and cooperates with the people of the Sunnah and the community, supports them, and opposes the people of innovation, rejecting what they have innovated in Islam with clarity and insight - he is from the people of the Sunnah and the community. Second: The Sufi orders are various sects, among them: the Tijaniyyah , the Qadiriyyah , and the Khalwatiyyah .. etc. No sect among them is free from religious innovation, though they differ in the amount, some having little and some having much. Third: The Shi'ah are many sects, numbering more than twenty. Read about them in the book [Al-Milal wa al-Nihal] by al-Shahrastani, the book [Al-Fasl fi al-Milal wa al-Nihal] by Ibn Hazm , the book [Al-Firaq bi al-Firaq] by al-Baghdadi , and [A Summary of the Book of the Twelve Imams], and the book [Minhaj al-Sunnah]
by Ibn Taymiyyah, for in them is sufficient description of those sects and clarification of their status in Islam. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
