Adherence to the Sunnah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original

The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 8973 ):

Q4: In the recent period, I have repented, I pray the obligatory prayers, and I adhere to the noble Prophetic Sunnah. In our village, they consider one who adheres to the Sunnah to be strict in religion. When you respond to them, they say, "The extremists have perished." Who are the extremists? And is adhering to the Sunnah considered strictness?
A4: Praise Allah the Exalted for guiding you to the truth, and thank Him for enabling you to act upon it. Explain to those who oppose you that Islam is easy, that religion is ease, and that extremism in religion is artificiality and exaggeration in action by adding to what Allah has prescribed. You have not added anything; rather, you have only adhered to what Allah has prescribed. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
