Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Shaykh, may I ask a question!
The student : Questions, young men.

The questioner : Also, regarding other things that the Salafis face here; if a man's father or brother passes away, it is well known from the innovations in funerals in our country that they set up a large tent and bring a reciter, and so on. What is the position of the Salafi brother here who follows the Book and the Sunnah? Does he disobey his father and apply the command of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the narrated hadith:
A creature is not to be obeyed when it involves disobedience to the "Creator.” لا طاعةَ لمخلوق في معصية الخالق
Mishkat al-Masabih 3696
Or does he continue standing at the funeral or in this tent and listen to the Noble Qur'an until he receives those who come to console this man? What does the brother do?

The Shaykh : And who is the deceased?

The questioner : Let the deceased be his brother, and his father is present, standing and accepting condolences.

The Shaykh : Yes, indeed; no, he attends and delivers a word of advice, then turns his back and leaves, and
A creature is not to be obeyed when it involves disobedience to the "Creator.” لا طاعةَ لمخلوق في معصية الخالق
Mishkat al-Masabih 3696
