What is the ruling on the meat slaughtered by the People of the Book, namely the Jews and the Christians, and does the meat that comes from abroad fall under this category?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible for us to eat the meat slaughtered by the People of the Book, the Jews and the Christians, for example, the meat that comes from abroad?

The Shaykh : You mixed up Sha'ban with Ramadan, and we haven't even arrived yet!

The questioner : Please, our Shaykh.

The Shaykh : I am not finished.

The questioner : The Shaykh is not finished yet.

The Shaykh : I am not finished, may Allah guide you. If you say: "the meat slaughtered by the Jews and the Christians," and then you say: "the meat that comes to us from Europe," if we are certain that the Jews and the Christians slaughter in the proper manner and do not kill in a manner of slaughter, then it is permissible based on the text of the Noble Qur'an. However, if they do not slaughter but rather kill, then if a Muslim did that, eating it would be forbidden, so what about the Jews and the Christians? Do you understand?

The questioner : Yes

The Shaykh : Well, if Allah wills?

The questioner : Yes.
