Eating from the meats found in the lands of the Christians

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 19658 )
Q 2: We are studying in America , so is it permissible for us to eat the meats in those lands or not? Please issue a ruling for us, may you be rewarded, and may Allah reward you with good.
A 2: It is permissible for a Muslim to eat from the slaughter of the People of the Book, who are the Jews and the Christians , provided that the slaughtered animal is of a type that is lawful for us to eat in our Shari'ah, such as livestock - camels, cattle, sheep, and goats - and chickens and the like
of that; because Allah the Exalted and Sublime said:
and the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for youوَطَعَامُ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ حِلٌّ لَكُمْ
[Al-Ma'idah 5:5]
So Allah the Exalted and Sublime has made it permissible for us to eat from their slaughter, excepting their food, because they believe that slaughtering for other than Allah is forbidden, and the food referred to in the verse is: the slaughtered animals, and if you can do without that, it is safer for your covenant and more cautious for your religion, and whoever avoids doubtful matters has protected his religion and his honor, Allah the Exalted said:
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out (3) And will provide for him from where he does not expect.وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا (2) وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لاَ يَحْتَسِبُ
[At-Talaq 65:2-3]
Surah al-Talaq, verses 2, 3, as for other than the People of the Book: such as the Majus and the polytheists and the communists and those who have no religion and the like - it is not permissible for a Muslim to eat from their slaughter; because when Allah the Exalted and Sublime excepted the lawfulness of the food of those who were given the Book, that indicated that the disbelievers other than them remain under the prohibition and the generality. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
