So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold
[Al-Baqarah 2:256]
: What is the meaning of disbelief in taghut, and is it permissible to make du'a' for the taghut, and what is the ruling on one who makes du'a' for the taghut?

The Shaykh : The taghut are “everyone who rules by other than what Allah has revealed.”

The questioner : Okay, and is it permissible to make du'a' for them?

The Shaykh : Listen, O Shaykh, may Allah guide you, you asked several questions.
Peace be upon you.
