Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The hadith that follows is also authentic, and it is similar to the one before it. He said:
And from Umm al-'Ala (may Allah be pleased with her), who said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) visited me while I was sick. He said: Be glad, Umm al-Ala' for Allah removes the sins of a Muslim for his illness as fire removes the dross of gold and silver.
Sunan Abi Dawud 3092Sahih (Al-Albani)
.
Also, the word
Gold.
has dropped out of the manuscript here. The manuscript says:
as fire removes the dross of gold and silver
Sunan Abi Dawud 3092Sahih (Al-Albani)
. It was narrated by Abu Dawud, and in Abu Dawud there is an addition:
Gold.
, meaning:
as fire removes the dross of gold and silver
Sunan Abi Dawud 3092Sahih (Al-Albani)
.
