The Shaykh’s warning about Abdullah al-Habashi.

The Shaykh : Here we come to a request that we hope will be a warning from the Shaykh about Abdullah al-Habashi! This is also one of the details that cannot be fully exhausted, for this man has activity in da'wah, particularly in Lebanon, and some of his followers have infiltrated these lands for a period of time. First, they are not upon the methodology of the Salaf al-Salih in 'aqidah; for example, they are Asha'irah, and they deny some of the divine attributes that our Salaf al-Salih held, and which every Muslim pronounces, though they differ in their understanding and digestion of what they pronounce. For example, every Muslim says in his prayer, in his prostration: "Subhan Rabbi al-A'la" (Glory be to my Lord, the Most High). Every Muslim reads in the book of his Lord—especially if he has a concern for the fixed recitations and dhikr established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), such as reading, for example, Surat Tabaarak before sleeping, and in it, as is well known, is His saying (Mighty and Majestic): [Al-Mulk 67:16-17]. We read the verses and we read the hadiths, but a large majority of Muslims, including these Habashis, read but do not believe, because they have deviated in what they read and what they believe in; verbally they have deviated from it in meaning. For example, they deny that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is above all creation. And this affliction is widespread today among the masses of Muslims, regardless of whether one is a Habashi or not. In our ordinary gatherings, we hear, on one occasion or another, one of them say—and it may be one of the elders, or one of the specialists, or one of the common people—he says: "Allah is present in all existence," "Allah is present in every place." This is a belief that contradicts the Qur'an, contradicts the hadiths of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), contradicts what our Salaf al-Salih were upon, and contradicts what the four Imams were upon, whom the masses of Muslims today claim to follow in their knowledge, fiqh, and understanding. These were from the Salaf al-Salih, and they believed that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is above all creation, and that He (Mighty and Majestic) is not in every place, but rather His knowledge is in every place: [Al-Hadid 57:4]. His knowledge is in every place, but Allah (Mighty and Majestic), as in the Qur'an in more than one verse, is: [Taha 20:5], [Al-Ma'arij 70:4], [Fatir 35:10].
(16) Do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it would sway? (17) Or do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not send against you a storm of stones? Then you would know how [severe] was My warning.
أَأَمِنْتُمْ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ أَنْ يَخْسِفَ بِكُمُ الْأَرْضَ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَمُورُ * أَمْ أَمِنْتُمْ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ أَنْ يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًا فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ كَيْفَ نَذِيرِand He is with you wherever you are
وَهُوَ مَعَكُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْThe Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established.
الرَّحْمَنُ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوَىThe angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him
تَعْرُجُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ إِلَيْهِTo Him ascends good speech, and righteous work raises it
إِلَيْهِ يَصْعَدُ الْكَلِمُ الطَّيِّبُ وَالْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ يَرْفَعُهُ
