The Lost Sect of 'Abdullah al-Habashi

From 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Abdullah ibn Baz to the honorable brother T. M. (may Allah keep him safe), peace be upon you and Allah's mercy and blessings, and after: I refer to your inquiry, registered with the Department of Scholarly Research and Ifta under number 313 and dated 25/1/1406 AH, in which you ask about the sect that claims affiliation with their leader, the so-called 'Abdullah al-Habashi.
I inform you that this sect is known to us; it is a lost sect, and its leader, the so-called 'Abdullah al-Habashi, is known for his deviation and misguidance. It is obligatory to boycott them, to deny their false creed, and to warn people against them, against listening to them, and against accepting what they say.
And there is no doubt that whoever denies that Allah is in the sky is a misguided, disbelieving follower of the Jahmiyyah who lies about the saying of Allah the Exalted:[al-Mulk: 16] and what has come in its meaning from the authentic verses and hadiths from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and there is no doubt that what Ibn Battutah mentioned about the Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah regarding likening the descent of Allahto His descent from the pulpit is a fabrication with no basis in truth, and all the writings of the Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) indicate the falsehood of that, and Allah is the One to be sought for help.
As for your desire to receive the fatwas of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and some books of creed, we suggest that you write to us a separate letter regarding this, accompanied by a copy of your ID or a recommendation from some of the scholars who know you. Based on that, we will send you what is appropriate for you, if Allah wills. May Allah guide everyone to what pleases Him; He is the All-Hearing, the Responsive.
