Making use of it by going to Makkah and al-Madinah for 'Umrah and visiting.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : A category of people travel on the earth; they travel on the earth, going to Makkah and al-Madinah to enjoy 'Umrah and visiting. As for 'Umrah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding it:
An Umra is an expiation for the sins committed between it and the next
Sahih Muslim 1349a
. Thus, 'Umrah becomes an expiation for the minor sins committed between the two 'Umrahs. Visiting the Prophet's Mosque is an act of drawing near to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family):
One should not undertake journeys except to three mosques: al-Masque al-Haram (in Makkah ), the Aqsa mosque, or this mosque (in Madinah).
Bulugh al-Maram 5:58
. There is no fixed limit for this visit or for 'Umrah. That is, one may stay for a week, a month, or more than that, according to what is feasible for you, and according to what suits you and your family. Through this, your culture and knowledge of people's conditions increase, especially since the people who come to Makkah and al-Madinah are from various parts of the Islamic world. You will have the opportunity to sit with them, interact with them, study their conditions, and guide them to what they are unaware of or ignorant of. Makkah, may Allah honor it. It contains al-Masjid al-Haram. Are there other places in it that are visited during 'Umrah, or not? A question; answer it. What is it? No. 'Umrah, 'Umrah, there is nothing in it except al-Masjid al-Haram. You perform tawaf, sa'y, and taqsir, and the worship is complete. There is no worship other than this. The prayers are well known. But there are no places that it is recommended (sunnah) for a person to visit. Some people intentionally go to the Cave of Hira, thinking that this is part of the Sunnah, but that is not the case. The Cave of Hira is a cave in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to worship, used to worship in it for nights of a number, before he was informed. And the revelation came down to him while he was in this cave. But the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) did not return to it after that, nor did the Companions visit it. There is another cave that some people visit, and they think it is an act of drawing near to Allah. What is it? The Cave of Thawr, in which the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) hid during the Hijrah. Visiting it is not a Sunnah, nor is it an act of drawing near to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). But if a person climbs Mount Hira or Mount Thawr just to look around, without seeking to draw near to Allah through this climbing, is it blameworthy? The answer: No. It is not blameworthy. It is blameworthy for the person who goes to worship Allah and draw near to Allah through it.
In the Prophet’s city, the Prophet’s city, I intend for you to go there to pray in the Prophet’s Mosque, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
A prayer in this mosque of mine is better than a thousand prayers in any other mosque, except the Mosque of the Ka'bah.
Musannaf Abd al-Razzaq 12:1026
. How many prayers do you pray in it? A thousand prayers, and it is better than a thousand prayers? What did we say, everyone? It is better than a thousand prayers. Sit down. Okay, everyone. What is the first thing you intend to do? The mosque, you pray in it, and it has no limited limit. Pray in it one obligatory prayer, or two, or three, for one day, or two days, or three, or more. It is not five prayers as some of the common people say, nor is it forty prayers as others say. Pray as much as you wish. This is the first thing. Then visiting the grave of your Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). This grave was his residence, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) had wives, and he died leaving nine of them. Each one had a house. The one he is in is the house of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). - Listen, my brother. - When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fell ill, it was part of his justice that he would go to each woman on her day, even while he was sick. And he would say:
Where will I be tomorrow? Where will I be tomorrow?
Sahih al-Bukhari 4450
. So his wives (may Allah be pleased with them) understood that he wanted Aisha’s day. So they allowed him to be nursed in Aisha’s house, they allowed him to be nursed in Aisha’s house. So he remained with Aisha while ill, and death came to him on a Monday. May Allah send blessings and peace upon him. And that day happened to be Aisha’s day. And he died in her lap, peace and blessings be upon him. And the last thing he tasted from this world was her saliva, because her brother, Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr, entered with a miswak, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was on his deathbed, so he kept looking at it, so Aisha realized that he wanted it. She said: Shall I take it for you? He gestured that yes. So she took it and chewed it with her teeth, meaning: she cut the fibers that Abd al-Rahman was using to clean his teeth. Then she chewed it and masticated it and made it pleasant, and it became the best it could be. Then she gave it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he used it to clean his teeth with his noble hand. She said:
I have not seen the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) clean his teeth with a miswak -meaning: he used a miswak to clean his teeth - better than this
. So the last thing he tasted from this world was what? Her saliva, may Allah be pleased with her. The important thing is that he died in this place. And praise be to Allah, it has remained there since he was buried until today. And the earth does not consume anything of it. The Prophets, none of them are consumed by the earth. Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) forbade the earth from consuming the flesh of the Prophets. When you finish praying in the Prophet’s Mosque (peace and blessings be upon him) in any part of it. And if it happens that you are in the Raudah, which is between his house and his pulpit, that is better. Then go to the three graves: the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the grave of Abu Bakr, and the grave of Umar, and greet them. Start first with whom? With the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and greet him. Greet him, stand in front of him and say: Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim, for You are Praiseworthy and Majestic. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim, for You are Praiseworthy and Majestic. This is the best formula to greet the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). And leave aside what some mention in some small booklets, leave it, greet him with what he taught his Ummah, then take a step to your right to face Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). And greet him and say to him: Peace be upon you, O Caliph of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah be pleased with you and reward you for the Ummah of Muhammad with good -three words-. Then move a little, one step to your right, to stand facing Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). And greet him and say: Peace be upon you, O Commander of the Faithful, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. May Allah be pleased with you and reward you for the Ummah of Muhammad with good. How many places of visitation did we mention? How many? No. Two: the mosque and the graves. There is a third place of visitation: al-Baqi', the cemetery of the people of Madinah, about which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
O Allah, grant forgiveness to the inhabitants of Baqi' al-Gharqad.
Sahih Muslim 974a
. Greet the cemetery first when you enter, greeting everyone with the known greeting:
Peace be upon you, abode of a people of faith, and we, if Allah wills, are to follow you. May Allah have mercy on those of us who have gone before and those who come after. We ask Allah for well-being for us and for you. O Allah, do not deprive us of their reward, and do not test us after them, and forgive us and them.
. Then go to the grave of the third Caliph, who? Uthman, and it is well known. Greet him. Stand in front of him. And say: Peace be upon you, O Commander of the Faithful, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. O Allah, be pleased with him and reward him for the Ummah of Muhammad with good. Then leave, and do not linger in the cemetery. The cemetery is not a place for supplication. And the people of the graves are not called upon. The people of the graves are called for, not called upon. They are in need. These are three places of visitation. The fourth: the Mosque of Quba. Purify yourself in your house and go out to it and pray in it as much as Allah wills, for whoever purifies himself in his house and goes out to Quba and prays in it is like one who has performed an 'Umrah. Did you understand? Pray in it as much as you wish, then leave. Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) addressed His Prophet saying:
And [there are] those [hypocrites] who took for themselves a mosque for causing harm and disbelief and division among the believers and as a station for whoever had warred against Allah and His Messenger
[At-Tawbah 9:107]
. Four. Four purposes for the Mosque of Ad-Darrar. Allah said to His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family):
Do not stand [for prayer] within it - ever. A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in. Within it are men who love to purify themselves; and Allah loves those who purify themselves.
[At-Tawbah 9:108]
. Pray in Quba two rak'ahs or as much as you wish, then leave. This place of visitation, how many is it? The fourth. The fifth: the martyrs of Uhud. And the place is well known. And their cemetery is well known. Greet them as you greet the other cemeteries. And if you wish, single out from them Hamza, the uncle of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), who has this great title: the Lion of Allah and the Lion of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and may Allah be pleased with Hamza. When was Hamza martyred? Who knows. When? Say it. In the Battle of Uhud in the third year of the Hijrah. These are five places of visitation in Madinah, and anything else has no basis. Anything other than these places of visitation has no basis. Do not believe what is in the Mosque of Two Qiblas or the Mosque of Ghumama or anything else. But know that some people take advantage of the opportunity to eat money unjustly. They say to people who do not know: This is such and such a place of visitation. And this is seven mosques. And this is the Mosque of Ghumama. And this is the Mosque of Qibla, and the like of that. Exploitation to eat the money of people unjustly, until I saw in Ta'if, east of Ta'if, a pebble, a stone, they say: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) leaned his elbow on this pebble. And it is on the slope of a mountain. What? The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) did not come to Ta'if from this side. But people want to play with the ignorant to rob them of their money. We have now finished with two noble, great cities to which some people travel on vacation.
