The Shaykh’s remarks on how to combine hastening the breaking of the fast with hastening the Maghrib prayer

The Shaykh : The command to combine hastening the iftar with hastening the Maghrib prayer is a very easy matter, and it is something our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) clarified for us in both word and deed; where: , he breaks his fast with three dates, then prays Maghrib, then returns to eat dinner if he feels a need for it. Today we fall into two violations: First: we delay the adhan from its prescribed time, and after this delay comes another delay, which is that we sit down to eat, except for a few people who are eager and pray Maghrib in the mosque. But most people, first, they delay until they hear the adhan, and when they hear the adhan they sit down to eat as if they are having lunch or dinner, and they are not breaking their fast. The adhan today, in most Islamic countries, unfortunately I say, and not only in Jordan, I have known this by following up in most Islamic countries, the Maghrib adhan is called after the time. The reason for this is that we have abandoned holding fast to the Shari'ah rulings and applying them practically, and we have relied on astronomical calculations, leaning on what is called today the "almanac," the "calendar." These calendars run on astronomical calculations that calculate the earth as a flat surface, so they give a calculation for this flat earth, while the earth, especially in our lands here, varies between a lowland in a valley and a plateau, between a mountain. So it is not correct for the timing to be one that includes the coast, includes the plain, and includes the mountain. No, every land has its own time. Therefore, whoever is able, in where he resides in his country or in his village, to see the setting of the sun with his own eyes, if it sets, then that is the hastening of the iftar that we were commanded to do in his saying (peace be upon him) mentioned just now: Sunan ad-Darimi 2:28 . The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was eager to apply this Sunnah in teaching and in practice. As for teaching, he said (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him) in the hadith that al-Bukhari narrated in his "Sahih": Riyad as-Salihin 1236 and he pointed to the east Riyad as-Salihin 1236 and he pointed to the west Sahih al-Bukhari 1954 , what does that mean? meaning: it has entered the ruling of breaking the fast, and at that time the previous ruling comes, in which the Messenger (peace be upon him) urged hastening the iftar. And the Messenger (peace be upon him) used to apply this even while riding and traveling. It also came in "Sahih al-Bukhari" that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): ordered one of his companions to prepare his iftar, and he said: O Messenger of Allah, the day is before us. Meaning the light of the sun, even if it has set, but its light is still visible from the western side. So the Messenger (peace be upon him) did not respond to him, but he affirmed for him the order to prepare the iftar. The narrator of the hadith says meaning the light of the day, the light of the sun the sun has set from here, and the Messenger (peace be upon him) ordered one of the Companions to prepare the iftar. Why? To hasten the good Sunan ad-Darimi 2:28 ? The important thing is to note that the iftar that is hastened by Shari'ah must be on dates, then the hastening of the prayer, and then the people sit and eat their fill. This is the first matter I wanted to remind you of, which is combining the two matters that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded to hasten: the first is hastening the iftar, and the second is hastening the Maghrib prayer. So the iftar is on dates as is the Sunnah, and if dates are not available, then on sips of water, then the prayer is prayed in congregation in the mosque.
He (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him) would break his fast with three dates
كان - عليه الصلاة والسلام - يفطر على ثلاث تمراتMy community will remain in good condition as long as they hasten the breaking of the fast
لا تزال أمتي بخير ما عجَّلوا الفطرWhen the night approaches from this side
إذا أقبل الليل من ههناand the day retreats from that side (i.e., west)
وأدبر النهار من ههناand the sun sets, then the fasting person should break his fast.
وغربت الشمس فقد أفطر الصائمThe fasting person has broken his fast
فقد أفطر الصائمWe used to see the day before us
كنا نرى النهار أمامناWhen we broke our fast, if any of us had ridden his camel, he would have seen the sun
حينما أفطرنا لو أن أحدنا ركب ناقته لرأى الشمسMy community will remain in good condition as long as they hasten the breaking of the fast
لا تزال أمَّتي بخير ما عجلوا الفطر
