What is the ruling on hastening excessively in prayer in the mosque?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : If we say, O Shaykh, may Allah bless you, that people, or that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), used to delay the 'Isha' prayer slightly, but people now in some mosques may hasten with the prayer, perhaps praying it three or four minutes after the adhan. So if I say, "O people, wait, may Allah bless you, the angels are praying for you," and so on, and they say, "O my brother, pray with us," and the other mosques have already finished, is there a problem with this?

The Shaykh : It was the way of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the 'Isha' prayer that if he saw them gathering, he would hasten, and if he saw them delaying, he would delay. However, sometimes he would delay even when they were gathered, as in the hadiths that passed before us a little while ago. His predominant custom was to consider the people: if he saw them gathering, he would hasten, and if he saw them delaying, he would delay. And this is the best, especially since the common people now like to hasten. If this is more comfortable for them, and they find it burdensome if you delay the prayer, then the matter is broad, and praise be to Allah.
