Do we clarify to people the correct ruling on seeking the assistance of disbelievers, given that we have platforms to spread the correct fatwa, knowing that the state's muftis say it is permissible?

The questioner : May Allah reward you. We are currently heading to Egypt, and you know Egypt's position, may Allah bless you. Naturally, we will be on some of the platforms of the Ansar al-Sunnah group there. So what do you advise us to do in this regard? May Allah bless you.

The Shaykh : I did not understand. What is the connection between your last question and seeking the assistance of disbelievers?

The questioner : We know, may Allah bless you, what you have said in the tapes.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : And in the hadiths, it is not permissible to seek their assistance.

The Shaykh: Of course.

The questioner : Naturally, the muftis of Egypt now.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : And the scholars of Egypt.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : Say that it is permissible.

The Shaykh: All right.

The questioner : So we naturally know the correct ruling, if Allah wills.

The Shaykh: All right.

The questioner : Now, it is obligatory for us, naturally, to clarify it to people on the platform, or what do you advise us to do in this matter?

The Shaykh : If you have grasped the subject from the scientific perspective.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : You will encounter its negation, and it is sufficient for you to know the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in "Sahih Muslim":
Indeed, we will not seek the assistance of a polytheist إنَّا لن نستعينَ بمشرك
And in reality, since you want to prepare yourself and speak there, it should have been a long and extended session there so that we could present to you some of the pillars that you must rely on and elaborate on the speech around them with some detail. So regarding seeking assistance, we said that what was not present, we said earlier that the scholars who say seeking assistance is permissible, and they are a minority, imposed a fundamental condition, which is that the dominance must be with the state seeking assistance, the Muslim state seeking the assistance of some disbelievers. And the reality of today is the complete opposite. The Americans and the British are stronger than Saudi Arabia, and if they wanted not to leave Saudi Arabia forever, the Saudis would not be able to expel them from their land. Do you understand? So the seeking assistance that they are talking about, all of it, one observes that the condition set by the jurists is not met. And one of the most strange things said about seeking assistance is that the Messenger sought the assistance of the Jews in the service of the land of Khaybar. What is its connection to seeking assistance in fighting? And those Jews were under the Islamic system of governance. So within this scope, if the ones seeking assistance seek the help of some disbelievers and the Muslims have authority over them, then that is what can be said to be permissible, even though the hadith is explicit:
We will not seek the assistance of a polytheist لن نستعينَ بمشرك
, and "we will not" — as you know — is for perpetuity. So make your remaining talk revolve around this authentic hadith.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
