The questioner : The questioner says, honorableThe Shaykh : Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings. In recent times, some righteous young men have been traveling outside the Kingdom as bachelors, leaving behind their wives and children. This travel is not for any pressing need, in addition to the neglect and loss that befalls their children. We ask for your guidance, and may Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : This, and Allah knows best, is regrettable: that a man travels and leaves his family. They need him for financial maintenance, they need him for his companionship, and they need him for guidance and upbringing. Then he goes to lands where he may encounter evil in their customs, morals, and worship. So my advice to these people is: let them fear Allah in themselves, let them fear Allah in their families, and let them stay in their own land. If they wish to travel, let them travel with their families to Makkah and al-Madinah, and to whatever is good for them. As for going away to ruin themselves and turn away from their families, this is an error, a foolishness of the mind, and a misguidance in religion. Yes.
