A woman divorced with a final divorce, and her menstrual cycle is not regular; it may be delayed by one or two months without the period coming

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The questioner, or rather the female questioner, says, Your Eminence,The Shaykh : A woman was divorced with a final divorce. And her menstrual cycle is not regular.

The Shaykh : Three, what?

The questioner : A final divorce.

The Shaykh : Huh?

The questioner : A final divorce.

The Shaykh : Yes, indeed.

The questioner : And her menstrual cycle is not regular; it may be delayed by one or two months without the period coming. So what is the waiting period for this woman? And may Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : Yes. The waiting period for a woman who menstruates is three menstrual periods, whether the duration is long or short. Accordingly, if a man divorces his wife after she gives birth, the custom is that a woman who is breastfeeding does not menstruate. We say: this woman remains in her waiting period until menstruation returns to her after breastfeeding, and she menstruates three times, based on the saying of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He):
Divorced women remain in waiting for three periods وَالْمُطَلَّقَاتُ يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِأَنفُسِهِنَّ ثَلاثَةَ قُرُوءٍ
[Al-Baqarah 2:228]
. This is the obligatory ruling. Yes.
