A woman aged (22 years) was divorced by her husband during a period of purity and remained for four months without her menstrual period arriving due to the hormones specific to the cycle

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A woman aged twenty-two was divorced by her husband during a period of purity and remained for four months without her menstrual period arriving, which she says is due to a deficiency in the hormones specific to the cycle, and Allah knows best. She went to a gynecologist and took treatment, and indeed her period came three times after that. Her question is: Has my waiting period ended given the situation I described? Please note that she did not take the medication until after confirming that there was no pregnancy, and I inform you that before the divorce she was taking this type of medication. I ask the honorable Shaykh to answer?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment:
If the waiting period becomes obligatory for a divorced woman who is of those who menstruate, then her waiting period is three complete menstrual cycles, and she cannot exit the waiting period except with these cycles, even if the duration is long. Accordingly, if a man divorces his wife while she is breastfeeding during a period of purity in which he did not have intercourse with her, and she remains without menstruation until the child is weaned, then she remains in her waiting period due to the generality of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Divorced women remain in waiting for three periods وَالْمُطَلَّقَاتُ يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِأَنفُسِهِنَّ ثَلاثَةَ قُرُوءٍ
[Al-Baqarah 2:228]
.
Based on this, we say to this questioner: If she had left the matter as it was, perhaps her husband would have taken her back, because he has the right to take her back as long as she is in the waiting period, and that would have been better for her. But since she hastened, and she did not intend to drop the husband's right, but rather intended to be free from the waiting period, perhaps Allah will grant her a new husband, then there is nothing wrong with what she did of taking these pills that led to the descent of menstruation, and there is no blame on her for that.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
