Is one who dies in a car accident considered a martyr by analogy to one who dies under a collapsed building?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This leads to the question raised earlier regarding one who dies due to a car, whether crushed, run over, hit, and so on. We cannot say that he is in the same ruling as one who dies under a collapsed building, because matters of the unseen are not practical jurisprudential rulings, and among the most difficult matters is introducing opinion, independent legal reasoning, and analogy into them. Therefore, the answer to such a question is: Allah knows best. This is especially so because the rulings are those related to one who dies outside the battlefield, where it is obligatory to pray over him, wash him, shroud him, and so on. As for the point in question, which is his status with Allah? Is he in the rank of one who died under a collapsed building or one who drowned, for example? We say: Allah knows best, because Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is the One who handles his reward or recompense, if he deserves this reward, which is one of the types of martyrdom mentioned by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). As for the jurisprudential rulings, they apply to this type of person who died due to a car just as they apply to the other martyrs who are martyrs by ruling and not in reality. This is the answer to this question.
