The Importance of Tolerance in Calling People to Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student : At the beginning of my imamate in the Suwaylih mosque, you remember this, perhaps, and the difficulties I faced and some of the other parties, so based on the question of the brother Ghazi when he asked you, is it permissible for the imam to leave a recommended practice (sunnah) in order to unify the rows and gather the people's word?
The student : ... .
Another student: And what is it?
Another student : The sutrah.
Another student: Requesting the same as the sutrah, yes.
Another student: To avert fitnah.
The student : To avert fitnah, so I remember your advice, may Allah reward you, and I say: This is our merchandise returned to us, may Allah reward you with good. You told us one day, "Live among them as long as you are in their home, and be a neighbor to them as long as you are in their neighborhood, and be on their land as long as you are on their land, and not at the expense of the Shari'ah." I have never forgotten this.
The student : And not at the expense of the Shari'ah, so I do not forget your words, meaning this small phrase from which I benefited. And believe me, O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, those who were fighting me over these sunnahs became, one day, saying: "My master, you will not know my good until you try someone else." By Allah, O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, after a few years, some of them who were a hostile enemy became a friend, became my friend, and remember this speech. So I wanted to advise everyone with your advice, and this is our merchandise returned to us, may Allah reward you with good.
