The Shaykh : Then the author said in the following chapter: "The Chapter on Guiding to Good".
Meaning, and explaining the reward he has for it.
Then he narrated with his authentic chain of narration.
From Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari, who said:Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 242.
A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I have been stranded, so carry me. This means: he was a traveler and was riding his mount, but it encountered an incident that caused him to be cut off from his journey. His saying "I have been stranded" means: I was stopped on the road, either because his mount became exhausted and tired, or because it died, so he was unable to continue his journey to the destination he had intended. "I have been stranded" means I was cut off on the road. "Carry me" means: give me what you have that helps me continue the journey and the road, from mounts, such as a camel or a donkey, or similar vehicles. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) answered him with an apology: I do not find to give you what would carry you and get you to your destination. So the man went to the one the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) directed him to, and he came to him and actually carried him, mounting him on something. Then he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him, and he said: Sahih Muslim 1893a.
The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) indicates in this hadith that the one who engages in the cause has the ruling of the one who is caused, the traveler. When that man who was stranded and cut off on the road asked the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) for something to carry him, and the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) excused himself by saying he did not find anything, he said: Go to so-and-so, in the Messenger's (peace and blessings be upon him) opinion that he would be generous with what carries him from mounts. So he said to him: Perhaps he will carry you. And indeed, he went to him and he carried him. The man who had been cut off returned to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), as if saying to him: Your mediation and your guidance have benefited me; the man carried me, and by that I was able to continue the road and reach my path. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said, teaching people to do as he did and to guide people to good as he guided, and encouraging them to do so by saying:Sahih Muslim 1893a And from here came the concise and brief phrase from this hadith: "The one who guides to good is like the one who does it".
So this is close to the famous authentic hadith that has passed by us on some occasions:Sahih Muslim 1016d Is it not from the good word that if a man comes to me asking for my help with money, and I say to him: I do not find what I can offer you from money, but go to so-and-so, perhaps he will give you what you need, and he went to him and he gave him? Then the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is true in this and in examples like this: Sahih Muslim 1016d If you do not have charity, then guide to one who gives charity.
This hadith is in the manner of that hadith, but this hadith that came to us in the book clarifies to us that the one who guides to charity and the one who guides to good, whatever the type of this good is, his reward is like the reward of the one who does it. So the one who guided to charity has like the reward of that one who gave charity. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who guided that one who was stranded to one who would carry him, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has like the reward of that one who carried him.
Meaning, and explaining the reward he has for it.
Then he narrated with his authentic chain of narration.
From Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari, who said:
A man came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said, 'My camel has become exhausted, so give me a mount.' He replied, 'I do not have any. But go to so-and-so and perhaps he will give you one.' He went to that man and he gave him a mount. Then he went back to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and told him. He said, 'Whoever guides to good has the like of the reward of the person who actually does it.'
A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I have been stranded, so carry me. من دل على خير فله مثل أجر فاعلهThe Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) indicates in this hadith that the one who engages in the cause has the ruling of the one who is caused, the traveler. من دل على خير فله مثل أجر فاعلهSo this is close to the famous authentic hadith that has passed by us on some occasions:
