Addendum for the sake of benefit: Types of permissible backbiting. The sixth type: "And the one who seeks assistance in removing an evil."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The sixth and final section on permissible backbiting:
He said: "And the one who seeks assistance in removing an evil" meaning: if there is an evil in the neighborhood and there is no way to remove it and put an end to it except through the cooperation of Muslims with one another, then it is necessary for the one who is aware of the bad incident to speak about its people to the others who will cooperate with him in the path of removing that evil. For example, if a person tries to open a liquor store in his locality, he will rush to his brothers and the prominent people of the locality and say to them: So-and-so went and contacted the governorate and submitted an application for a license to open a liquor store or something similar, and before it becomes a reality, you must cooperate to prevent it... and so on. All of this is backbiting, but it is in the path of repelling harm which, if it occurs, will corrupt the youth of his locality and perhaps his women as well. Therefore, cooperation in removing an evil, even if it necessitates some backbiting, this backbiting is permissible.
In summary: The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) warned in this hadith, he warned the Muslims that one of them should not backbite his Muslim brother unjustly. In his saying:
unjustly ظلماً
there is an indication that there is backbiting that is not considered injustice. Therefore, jurisprudence required that we explain, but these types of backbiting are not considered injustice, and whatever is other than that is injustice. And whoever falls into it is as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
That is the one who has transgressed and perished فذاك الذي حرج وهلك
.
In the next lesson, if Allah wills, we will complete the discussion of this hadith.
This is sufficient for now.
And all praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
The Messenger (peace be upon him) said:
Like the one who stands by the limits of Allah and like the one who transgresses them, is like a group of people who boarded a ship and cast lots for it, so a group was in the upper part and a group in the lower part. Those in the lower part were drawing water from the sea, and they would pass by those in the upper part. So one day they said: What if we open a hole in the bottom of the ship, and thereby we rest ourselves and rest our brothers? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If they do that, they will perish and cause others to perish.
.
