On the explanation of the hadith: (When one of you prostrates, let him not lower himself like a camel, but let him place his hands before his knees).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ... the camel that lowers itself on its knees, and the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited that, and he said:
when one of you prostrates himself he must not kneel in the manner of camel, but should put down his hands before his knees.
Sunan Abi Dawud 840Sahih (Al-Albani)
. People today reverse the matter, so the first thing they see in those prostrating is that the first part of their body to touch the ground is their knees. The matter is the opposite of that; one should meet the ground with his hands, then with his knees, because of this hadith:
when one of you prostrates himself he must not kneel in the manner of camel, but should put down his hands before his knees.
Sunan Abi Dawud 840Sahih (Al-Albani)
. Now, since you are Arabs, how does a camel lower itself?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : ... his hands? "Everyone laughs."

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : ... as for our companion ... his hands.

The questioner : ... he said: his knees, and I say: his hands, and the camel's knees are in its hands.

The Shaykh : ... you say: the hands, because the hands are placed ... it walks on four legs, and it actually places its knees, so why do the worshippers today place their knees?

The questioner : Distinction.

The Shaykh : Distinction.

The questioner : ... for the camel! "Everyone laughs."

The Shaykh : ... it is in agreement with the camel. The point is what came after; the hadith is like this:
when one of you prostrates himself he must not kneel in the manner of camel
Sunan Abi Dawud 840Sahih (Al-Albani)
. Is there a questioner who says: So what do we do? He said:
let him put his hands down before his knees
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1091Hasan (Darussalam)
. This is how the hadith is in "Sunan Abu Dawud" and others with a good chain. The hadith came in "Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah" with the wording:
And let him place his knees before his hands
... This is a reversed hadith that was reversed upon the narrator; because the narrator who said this wording is Abdullah ibn Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id al-Maqburi, and he is ... accused of lying, so the hadith was reversed upon him. And perhaps he is the origin of this widespread misconception or common error among people, where they lower themselves on their knees like a camel. Therefore, the reversed hadith has examples, and this is its example. And many people have changed the description of the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Likewise, the hadith of moving the finger was reversed from the tashahhud to between the two prostrations, and this is an error without doubt. But some of those who have a recent participation in the science of authenticating and weakening hadiths took a quick look at the chain of the hadith in which moving the finger is mentioned ... and said: This is an authentic chain. It is so, but when it is compared with the narrations of the trustworthy narrators of this hadith, they are agreed that the movement is only for the tashahhud and not between the two prostrations; at that time, the ruling is reversed from authenticity to weakness due to anomaly.
