The Shaykh : Our comment on this is that a person should fear Allah regarding himself and his family, and not bring these satellite dishes into the houses, because a person brings them in thinking he will only watch the news or the knowledge broadcast on them. But he does not stop until he is immersed in their mud—may Allah protect us from that. I have heard of committed people of a high level of knowledge who brought in these satellite dishes thinking they would watch the news and look at some information. And then, may Allah protect us from that, they fell into sin. So their danger is great. As for the one who brings them into his home while he watches his family looking at these great evils, I ask: Is this considered advising his family or deceiving them? He is deceiving them without a doubt, because he is able to prevent them from it by removing them and breaking them. And if he is deceiving them, does he fall under the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family):? The matter is serious, my brothers.
