A man bought a car on installment, then died; do the installments remain a debt upon him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A man bought a car on installment and this man died without paying it off... Is this a debt upon him, or is it for his family to pay it off?

The Shaykh : It is a debt upon him, and... of course, it is a debt upon him.

The questioner : It is upon him.

The Shaykh: Of course.

The questioner : He must pay it off...

The Shaykh : It is known that if they are able to fulfill it, it is obligatory for them to do so, like any other debt. But you brought up the matter of installment payments; installment payments are riba (usury or interest). But does the seller believe that this is riba, and does the buyer believe that it is riba? Most people are afflicted with this!

Another questioner : It is riba through deception.

The Shaykh : Leave the questions for someone else; the time is about to end.
