Why is *Irwaa' al-Ghalaal* not abridged and included in the book *Manaar al-Sabeel* to make it easier for the student of knowledge to acquire it?

The questioner : Why is it not abridged and included in the book *Manaar al-Sabeel* to make it easier for the student of knowledge to acquire it?

The Shaykh : This is, in fact, a matter that does not rest with me. Even if it did rest with me, I would not be able to do it, because I am preoccupied with updating works only after I have finished printing many of my books that are ready for publication. I have not had much time in the past few years to produce new writings; my time is currently spent correcting the proofs of some books, most of which had never been printed at all, and some of which have sold out, necessitating their renewal. No one knows what an author endures today when he shares the time, effort, and distraction from writing—his previous habit—by correcting the proofs of one of his books.
So, before I came to you on this trip, Volume 5 of the *Series of Authentic Hadiths* and Volume 5 of the *Series of Weak Hadiths* were under press, as well as the reprinting of Volume 1 of the *Series of Weak Hadiths* with new research, additions, benefits, and an introduction suitable for the new edition. Also under press is Volume 2 of my abridgment of *Sahih al-Bukhari*, and we recently finished printing *Tammaam al-Mannah* in commentary on *Fiqh al-Sunnah*.
All of this takes up my time now. We barely finish correcting a book, indexing it, and writing an introduction before the second book comes, and so on. Therefore, I cannot do that. The way to proceed is for you to write to the publisher of the book, who is the owner of the Islamic Office, with such a suggestion, so that he may assign someone with the capability and hadith knowledge to abridge *Irwaa' al-Ghalaal* other than me.
