The Shaykh : As for the second point: It has come in many hadiths of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibiting spitting toward the qiblah. The clearest of these is his statement (peace and blessings be upon him), as found in Sunan Abu Dawud with its authentic chain, from Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan Abi Dawud 3824Sahih (Al-Albani).
We hear in this hadith a general prohibition of spitting toward the qiblah, similar to the general prohibition of urinating and defecating toward the qiblah. Thus, the generality of the first hadith is reinforced by the generality of the second hadith. This is even more compelling, for it is not hidden from anyone that spitting, which is pure, is easier to direct toward the qiblah than directing urine or feces. Yet the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited it in more than one hadith, especially in this hadith of Hudhayfah:Sunan Abi Dawud 3824Sahih (Al-Albani). If this is the status of spittle, which a Muslim directs toward the Ka'bah without distinguishing between the desert and buildings, then urine and feces are even more deserving of being prohibited from being directed that way.
He who spits in the direction of the qiblah will come on the Day of Resurrection in the state that his saliva will be between his eyes
