It is mentioned in the supplication of qunut that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught him to say in his supplication of qunut

The questioner : Regarding the issue of qunut, Shaykh, it is based on the hadith of al-Hasan ibn 'Ali. Whoever argues for adding to it cites the context of the hadith of qunut, where the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told him in his qunut to say in his supplication of qunut:
Allahumma ihdini fiman hadayta اللهم اهدني فيمن هديت
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1745Sahih (Darussalam)
So, is this a part of the supplication and not the whole of it? Is this correct?

The Shaykh : Let us see what his argument is. We do not validate this statement, but what is his argument?

The questioner : His argument is that the context of the hadith is that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to say in his supplication in qunut:
Allahumma ihdini fiman hadayta اللهم اهدني فيمن هديت
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1745Sahih (Darussalam)
So, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) guided him to what he says in some of the supplication, not all of it.

The Shaykh : And where is the rest?

The questioner : In his saying:
In the supplication of qunut في دعاء القنوت
.

The Shaykh : Where is the rest? Where is the narration or the report?

The questioner : There is none.

The Shaykh : So there is none, then there is none.

The questioner : He says: The principle is that there is a supplication. So when the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) told him: Say in the supplication of qunut, it means he has a supplication originally.

The Shaykh : Now, do you know that the hadith is known in some of the *Sunan* with the wording:
Teach me qunut in the witr علمني القنوت في الوتر
?

The questioner : This is explained by the second narration.

The Shaykh : What does it explain?

The questioner : Teach me qunut!

The Shaykh :
Teach me qunut علمني القنوت
This means there is no known addition. Teach me qunut, and this is its text, and that is sufficient. And peace be upon you.
