The Hady and the Udhiyah: What is their ruling for the pilgrim?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: Noble Shaykh, what is the ruling on the Hady and the Udhiyah for the pilgrim?

The Shaykh : The Hady is a recommended practice (sunnah), as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did. He offered one hundred camels as Hady (peace and blessings be upon him). How many sheep? Seven hundred (peace and blessings be upon him). He slaughtered sixty-three of them with his own hand, according to his noble age. He gave the rest to Ali, who slaughtered them. Then he ordered that a piece be taken from each camel, which was cooked. He ate of its meat and drank of its broth. This confirms that a person should eat from his Hady and his Udhiyah. However, if a person is the head of the household, if a person is the head of the household and performs Hajj, then Hady is obligatory upon him, meaning: what is prescribed for him is Hady. There is no harm in him keeping money for his family to buy an Udhiyah with, so that they may offer it as a sacrifice.
