He thought that the 'Id sacrifice suffices for the hady

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 20412 )
Q2: I performed Hajj with my wife in 1417 AH, and I appointed my wife's brother to slaughter the hady for the children in Riyadh , believing that this would suffice for me and all my household. However, I later heard that my wife and I are required to offer hady in Makkah , each of us individually. Does the 'Id sacrifice slaughtered in Riyadh suffice for me and all my household, or are my wife and I required to offer hady in addition to that? What should we do? May Allah reward you with good.
A2: If you were performing tamattu' (combining 'Umrah and Hajj) or qiran (combining them in one ihram), and so were those with you, then it is obligatory for you to slaughter hady in Makkah for each of you, which must be sufficient as an 'Id sacrifice. The 'Id sacrifice does not suffice for the hady in this case. However, if you were performing ifrad (Hajj alone), then hady is not obligatory for you. If you did not slaughter the hady
at its proper time in Makkah , then you must slaughter it now in Makkah yourselves or through a trustworthy agent. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
