Is the issue of speech among the matters in which the Asha'irah agree with the people of the Sunnah and the community?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : While speaking about al-Sha'rawi just now, I referred to speech; they, meaning, they do not take speech into account. Is speech not one of the seven attributes in which the Asha'irah agree with the people of the Sunnah and the community?

The Shaykh : In terms of the word, not the meaning.

The questioner : In terms of the word, not the meaning?

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : All seven attributes, and not speech?

The Shaykh : No, speech, the discussion of speech. You know that the people of the Sunnah say: that the speech of Allah is uttered and heard, is that not so?!
The Asha'irah do not say this.

The questioner : Uttered but not heard.

The Shaykh : No, not uttered, neither uttered nor heard; rather, they say: speech is mental speech.

The questioner : Mental?

The Shaykh : Mental means in the mind of Allah, meaning: they interpret the divine speech as equivalent to divine knowledge. And therefore, when they discuss the Mu'tazilah and refute them, why do you deny the divine speech?! Is Allah not able to make His speech understood to Musa?!
They do not say that He is heard, even though the Qur'an says:
so listen to what is revealed فاستمع لما يوحى
[Taha 20:13]
They do not believe in the heard speech.

The questioner : They say it is made understood!

The Shaykh : Yes, it is made understood because it is a matter of knowledge, and Allah (Mighty and Majestic), as He said:
and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills ولا يحيطون بشيء من علمه إلا بما شاء
[Al-Baqarah 2:255]
.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : So, in our view, Allah is able to make Musa hear, but in their view, it is made understood. And therefore, they are also deniers of this attribute, is that clear?

The questioner : Yes.
Another questioner: One of the seven attributes is speech, and why did the Shaykh want to mention it.

The Shaykh : Yes, that is it.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And to you.
