The Ritual Slaughter by a Woman

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: Is it permissible for a woman to slaughter the 'Id sacrifice on behalf of a man if he is not present, for example?

Answer: There is nothing wrong with a woman performing the ritual slaughter. A woman may slaughter a sheep, a camel, or anything else. She may slaughter, and her slaughtered animal may be eaten, whether it is the 'Id sacrifice or not. However, if it is the 'Id sacrifice and she slaughters it on behalf of someone else, his permission and his appointing her as his agent are required. This is because acting as an agent for another person in slaughtering the 'Id sacrifice is not permissible without his permission, whether the agent is a man or a woman. This is because the 'Id sacrifice is an act of worship, and an act of worship
is performed by a person himself, or he appoints someone to perform it on his behalf, if that act of worship is one in which agency is permissible.
Slaughtering the 'Id sacrifice is among the acts of worship in which agency is permissible.
