It was asked of Imam Ahmad

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : What do you have? Are you holding the paper with one question or more?

The questioner : There are questions that came from women asking about the meanings of certain words in some hadiths. The first hadith: these hadiths appeared in your book, The Muslim Woman's Hijab. I heard Ahmad was asked about a man dressing his slave girl in the qirtaq. He said: No, he should not dress her in men's clothing, and he should not make her resemble men. So, what is the meaning of the word qirtaq, or this type of clothing?

The Shaykh : Listen to the answer and memorize it, and convey it this way. The one being asked is not more knowledgeable about it thanThe questioner- the student brothers are laughing - meaning it was a known garment at that time, and by Allah, what it is? I do not know.
