What is the meaning of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) statement to Ubay?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you. In the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) statement to Ubay:
I was asked to recite the Qur'an and I was asked: 'In one mode or two modes?' أُقرئتُ القرآن على حرف أو حرفين ...
Sunan Abi Dawud 1477Sahih (Al-Albani)
until it reached seven letters, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
All of which is sufficient and complete. If you say "Hearing and Seeing" or if you say "Mighty and Wise," as long as you do not conclude a verse of mercy with punishment, or a verse of punishment with mercy. كلها شافٍ كافٍ إن قلت سميعا بصيرا أو قلت عزيزا حكيما ما لم تختم آية رحمة بعذاب أو آية عذاب برحمة
.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : What is the meaning of this hadith?

The Shaykh : Its meaning is that if there are multiple wordings for the attributes “Hearing” and “Seeing,” and one recites with any of them, there is no harm or blame on him. This is from one perspective. From another perspective, if there is no specific recitation, but one places the word “Hearing” in place of “Seeing,” or “Seeing” in place of “Hearing,” this does not invalidate the meaning of the verse. This is unlike placing a verse of mercy in place of a verse of punishment, or a verse of punishment in place of a verse of mercy; this is undoubtedly not permissible, and it invalidates the meaning and the recitation. This is what appears to be the meaning of this authentic hadith.
