In the early books of terminology, they present the statements of the imams with chains of narration

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: His EminenceThe Shaykh- May Allah preserve you and protect you - , he said: In the early books of terminology, they present the statements of the imams with chains of narration; is this chain subject to criticism like any other, or is it considered a chain we mention for the sake of citation?

The Shaykh: No, it is the former without a doubt. If one of the hadith scholars narrated a statement from one of the early scholars and a legal ruling depends on it, then it is obligatory to verify it and examine the men in its chain of narration, just as we thoroughly investigate what is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); because such authentication or criticism will lead to the validation or weakening of some hadiths, which in turn results in the establishment or negation of some legal rulings.
Yes.
